Odradek Room: Bardo. Relative reality
25/06/13 || gk
“Bardo. Relative reality” is the debut album from this Ukrainian band that mixes post metal meandering with some death doom and sludge. It’s not bad for what it is but it’s not all that great either. The songs tend to go on for too damn long and I often found myself wanting to skip through these long, boring sections and progressions that actually go nowhere. The band also does themselves no favours with a weak guitar tone and drum sound that is a bit flat. There is some promise here but it’s hidden beneath very mundane “heavy parts”. It’s the cleaner, softer and more melodic material that sticks out. Odradek Room could be a band to watch out for but just not yet.
5/10: Occasionally interesting but mostly just boring.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
